Originality Only: No biting allowed. Your freestyle must be raw, unique, and entirely yours – no stealing lines or copying styles. Any breach of originality or copyright will get you booted from the ring.
Battle Language: Spit your fire in English, Pidgin, or any of Nigeria’s main languages. Keep it real, keep it local.
Stay on Target: Every punchline, every bar should hit the combat topic for that round. No straying off course, no offensive language – keep it sharp and clean, fit for any crowd.
The Clock Rules: A timekeeper chosen by the organizers will control each round. Once your first word drops, the clock is ticking. When the signal hits, you’re done. Make every second count.
Two Rounds to Win: Each contender steps up for two rounds, one minute per round. If it’s too close to call, we go into overtime – one last round to crown the victor.
Keep in Sync: You and your opponent will face off on the same beat. Flow right, or fall behind.
Recorded Glory: By entering, you grant the organizers full rights to record and share your performance across any platform. This is your chance to leave a mark.
Respect the Arena: Any disrespect, abuse, or foul play, and you’re out. Show respect to the crowd, the beat, and your opponent – or face disqualification.
