Avoid biting (copying) other people’s work. Your freestyle must be unique and must not violate any third-party copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights, nor may it contain obscene or sexually explicit lyrics.
The battle language and dialect will be either English, Pidgin, or any of the three primary languages spoken in Nigeria.
The song lyrics (punch line) should be more focused on the combat topic chosen for that round. Lyrics must include information on the announced combat topic or theme. The song MUST NOT CONTAIN OFFENSIVE CONTENT OR LANGUAGE and must be appropriate for a broad audience.
The timekeeper will be chosen by the organizer. He or she will be given a timer and will be responsible for signaling the end of each round. The clock begins at the beginning of the competitor’s first line spoken/sung.
Each contender will be allotted two rounds of one (1) minute each for each round of competition. In the event of a tie, an additional round (OT) will be played to break the tie.
Each contender must sing or rhyme on the same beat as their opponent.
By taking part in this event, you agree to the recording of your contributions and grant the organizers entire copyright and all other rights to use your contributions in any media.
Competitors who are disrespectful, abusive, or otherwise judged improper by the organizers will be disqualified from the tournament.
